Overview

Innerval ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use our personal values discovery application at innerval.org.

The short version: we do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data to our own servers. Your quiz answers, results, aspirations, and exported files all stay on your device.

Information We Do Not Collect

Innerval is a fully client-side application. We do not:

  • Require you to create an account or sign in
  • Collect your name, email address, or any personal identifiers
  • Send your quiz answers, results, or aspirations to any server we operate
  • Use cookies for tracking or advertising purposes
  • Use advertising or invasive user-tracking services

Website Analytics

To understand how Innerval is used and improve the experience, we use Google Analytics to collect anonymous website usage data. This helps us answer questions like: How many people visit the site? How many complete the quiz? Which features are most valuable?

What We Track

  • Page views — which pages you visit within the application
  • Feature usage events — anonymous milestone events like "quiz started", "quiz completed", "PDF downloaded", "growth plan opened"
  • Quiz level selection — which quiz depth you choose (Essentials, Deep Dive, or Full Spectrum)
  • General metrics — aggregate data about website usage patterns

What We Do NOT Track

  • Your quiz answers or scores — we never see your 1-5 ratings or which values you rank highly
  • Life area selections — we don't know which life areas (Work, Relationships, Personal, Social, Leisure) you completed
  • Specific values or aspirations — we don't track which values you select or mark as aspirational
  • Comparison results — we don't see alignment scores or who you compare with
  • Growth plan content — we don't track the prompts you generate
  • Personal information — we don't collect names, emails, or any personally identifiable data

In summary: We track which quiz depth you choose and anonymous feature usage events, but never track the content of your quiz responses, specific values ranked, or personal choices. Your quiz data remains 100% private on your device.

Google Analytics may use cookies to distinguish visitors and may log standard web request data (such as IP addresses, which are anonymized). For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.

Local Storage

Innerval uses your browser's localStorage feature to save two types of data locally on your device:

  • Quiz progress — your answers, selected quiz depth, and current position, so you can resume where you left off
  • Aspirations — values you mark as aspirational in the Explore Values section

This data:

  • Is stored entirely on your device
  • Is never transmitted to any server
  • Can be cleared at any time by using the "Restart" button, clearing aspirations, or clearing your browser data
  • Is not accessible to us or any third party

Exported Files

Innerval lets you download your results as a PDF or export them as a JSON file. These files are generated entirely in your browser and saved directly to your device. We never receive or store copies of your exports. If you share these files with others (for example, to use the Compare feature), you do so at your own discretion.

No Server-Side Processing

All quiz logic, scoring, result calculations, profile comparisons, and growth plan prompt generation happen entirely within your browser. No personal data leaves your device through our application.

Third-Party Resources

The application loads the following external resources to function:

  • Google Analytics — we use Google Analytics to collect anonymous website usage metrics (page views and feature usage events). Google Analytics may use cookies and log standard request data. See the "Website Analytics" section above for details on what is and isn't tracked. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Fonts — web fonts are loaded from Google's servers. Google may log standard request data (such as your IP address) as described in Google's Privacy Policy.
  • html2pdf.js — a library loaded from the Cloudflare CDN to generate PDF downloads of your results. Cloudflare may log standard request data as part of serving the file.
  • Buy Me a Coffee — an optional donation button script loaded from Buy Me a Coffee's servers on the main page.

None of these services receive your quiz answers, results, or any personal data from Innerval.

Children's Privacy

Since we do not collect any personal information from anyone, there are no special concerns regarding children's privacy. The application is suitable for all ages.

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Since we do not collect contact information, we encourage you to review this page periodically.
